Dykes Go To Hell
Dykes Go To Hell
I know what you're thinking.
You're thinking: "I want to go to THAT church! The one that thinks that people who are different go to hell!"
Well, Salon's Broadsheet wants to go to that church too, although, maybe not for worship. As they pointed out, the marketing savvy congregation didn't quite get the whole point of the song "I Kissed A Girl", which was that the narrator was a straight girl getting her kicks from experimenting at the expense of another, perhaps less straight, girl.
Or maybe the church got it and THAT'S why she's going to hell.
Whatever the case may be, some local queers, or queer-lovers, apparently didn't interpret it that way and "vandalized" the sign thus:
I say "vandalized" because I tend to think the original sign vandalized the air.
I'm glad "family values" churches are "reaching out" to youff by listening to their music and commenting on it, but really? This is the churchy equivalent of a bitchy popular girl making fun of the outcasts' outfits. Seriously, sister? Kissing girls is SO pre-salvation!
